Archē Classical Academy Uniforms

At Archē Classical Academy, we strive to honor God in everything we do, including through our Uniform Policy. For more details on the purpose of this policy, please refer to our Parent/Student Handbook.

The uniform helps create a focused learning environment, free from distractions related to appearance or social status. It also reflects our values of order, discipline, and strong character.

Uniform Consignment

We partner with C-Luv Thrift to resell gently used uniforms. Uniform Consignment is a great way to save money and refresh your child’s school wardrobe.

How It Works:

  1. Donate: Drop off clean, gently used uniforms at the front desk.

  2. Shop: Visit C-Luv throughout the year for new items as they arrive.

  3. Support: CLuv Thrift will donate 100% of the proceeds to our school. These funds will support school events that benefit our students, teachers, and families.

If you have any questions, please contact the office at [email protected].

Overview and Guidelines

Uniform Guidelines

  • Purchasing: All uniforms must be purchased from the approved vendor list (except accessories and shoes).
  • Condition: Uniforms should be clean, neat, the correct size, and in good condition (no worn or frayed edges).
  • Appearance:
    • Students should be well-groomed and in uniform at the start of each school day.
    • Shirts must be tucked in, and belts should be worn with pants.
  • Length: Shorts, skorts, skirts, and dresses must be no shorter than two inches above the knee.
  • Logo/Crest is Required:
    • All tops must have the Archē Classical Academy crest on the upper left side.
    • The Logo/Crest can be an iron-on patch or embroidered.
    • Patches are available for purchase at the school office.
    • Embroidery is offered locally at 2Generations.
    • For layered outfits (e.g., jumpers, sweater vests), the outer layer must also have the Archē crest.
    • For an additional fee, tops purchased through the Lands’ End Preferred School Program can be embroidered.

Uniform Violation Policies

Minor uniform infractions will result in the student receiving an Out-of-Uniform Violation Slip that must be signed and returned by a parent or guardian the following school day. Receiving three (3) Out-of-Uniform Violations will result in loss of school privileges (recess/break, field trips, etc) until a meeting between parents or guardians and the Dean of Students or Head of School takes place.

Minor violations will include wearing:

  • tops without an Archē crest
  • Spiritwear on a regular school day
  • unapproved outerwear indoors (sweatshirts, jackets, hats, etc)
  • unapproved footwear
  • Jewelry, accessories, or hairstyles that are out of compliance with dress code standards (oversized or more than 2 pairs of earrings, unnaturally dyed hair, causing unnecessary distraction, etc)
  • Henna tattoos or writing on body

Major uniform violations will result in a phone call home to parents. Parents will be given the opportunity to bring an appropriate uniform for the student for the first offense. Any further offenses will result in the student being sent home from school and a meeting between parents or guardians and the Dean of Students or Head of School.

Major uniform violations will include:

  • Wearing an inappropriately sized uniform to school (skirts, shorts, or dresses that are shorter than 2 inches above the knee)
  • Wearing unapproved clothing items for a school function (leggings as pants, revealing dresses/skirts, athletic wear, etc)
  • Refusal to remove unapproved clothing items, accessories, or footwear after receiving a warning

Shoes, Hair, & Accessories

Shoes

  • Required: Closed-toe tennis shoes or flat-bottomed closed-toe shoes. Velcro straps for students who cannot tie their own shoes.
  • Colors: White, black, gray, brown, or navy.
  • Accent colors are allowed, but must be subtle/neutral.
  • Dress Shoes: Flat-bottomed dress shoes and dress boots are permitted.
  • Prohibited: No neon, glitter, characters, superheroes, princesses, or lights. Ugg boots and clog-style shoes are only permitted on Spirit Wear Days.
  • Weather: In adverse weather conditions, weather-proof footwear and boots are allowed, as long as they maintain a conservative look.

Hair & Accessories

  • Hair is expected to be combed/brushed, and tidy when arriving at school.
  • Girls’ hair accessories (hair ties, headbands, clips) must be neutral/school colors.
  • Boys’ hair should be kept trimmed above their eyes and maintain a conservative length.
  • Unnatural hair colors (blue, pink, etc) and fake nails are not allowed.
  • Girls may wear up to 2 pairs of earrings.
  • Students will not be
permitted to wear cartilage or other piercings, fake nails, have tattoos (including henna), or write
    upon their bodies.
  • Make-up should look natural/be neutral in color.
  • Hair styles and accessories/jewelry should not distract from a student’s ability to participate in school.

Spiritwear, Field Trips & Special Activities

Spirit Wear

Spirit Wear is purchased through a local small business, 2Generations. Families will have the opportunity to place orders for Spiritwear during sales throughout the school year. Spirit Wear days will be specified and announced in advance. Spirit Wear is any product with a screen-printed or tackle-twill Archē logo. On these days students will be able to wear any Archē School Spirit Wear shirt with jeans or uniform bottoms. Students may not wear jeans with holes in them, or leggings (unless under a uniform skirt). Students may wear any closed-toe tennis shoes. Spirit Wear is not mandatory, and students can choose to wear regular school uniforms on Spirit Wear days.

Field Trips & Special Events

While on field trips or engaging in other school-related events, students will be expected to dress modestly and appropriately for the planned activity. Students will wear uniforms on field trips unless otherwise noted. Students may not wear leggings or sweatpants in place of jeans or uniform bottoms.

Tie-Day Fridays (for Upper School Students only)

Upper School students (7th-10th graders) may dress in the formal uniform options on Fridays (Tie-Day Friday). Girls may wear their plaid skirts with a white oxford-style shirt, and boys may wear khaki or navy dress pants with a white oxford-style shirt, along with their plaid ties. The outermost layer must have an Archē crest on it, and must be tucked into bottoms. Plaid skirts and ties must be purchased through Land’s End.

Gym Uniforms (for Upper School Students only)

Students in Upper School will have the opportunity to purchase a gym uniform for use during gym class. This gym uniform is purchased through 2Generations and includes a gray Archē Lions t-shirt, and navy blue gym shorts. Also available for purchase are navy blue jogger-style sweatpants with the Archē Lions graphic on them. Students may wear a plain gray t-shirt or Spirit Wear t-shirt along with plain navy or black sweatpants for gym class. It is not required to purchase the Archē gym uniform.
