Attendance Requirements
Parents must notify the school office immediately upon realizing a student will either be tardy or absent from school that day by either emailing the school office or by phone call.
School Office: [email protected]
Phone Number: (717) 996-4379
In order to be marked as “excused”, written (paper or email) notification from a parent/guardian must be received by the school office ([email protected]) within 2 days of an absence providing the excuse.
Excused absences/tardies
Illness, family emergency, death of a family member, medical or dental appointments, authorized school activities, religious events, and educational travel with prior approval.
Unexcused absences/tardies
Students arriving late to school without prior notice to the school office will be considered an unexcused tardy. An absence with no written excuse from parents will be marked as unexcused. If a student reaches 3 unexcused tardies, they will be marked for an unexcused absence. If a student reaches 3 unexcused absences, an educational team meeting (to include parents, teacher, and administrator) will be initiated.
See the Parent/Student Handbook for full details regarding school attendance.
Pre-Arranged Absences
Students in good academic standing with no attendance concerns may submit a Pre-Arranged Absence form either online or by downloading the form and turning in a hard copy to the school office. Forms may be submitted to [email protected].
Medical or dental appointments are always excused and not considered a “pre-arranged absence”. Please email the school office notifying us of these appointments.
