Learning Philosophy

Classical Christian education, as we understand it, is a means of transferring a way of life, not simply preparation for the workforce.

We believe Christ is sovereign over everything, and as such should be integrated into every part of the educational curriculum and community. We have found that when Christ is first in every subject, students become lifelong learners, enchanted by the wonder of the world and passionate about justice and truth.

Up until about 100 years ago, a classical Christian education was standard in the Western world and had stood the test of over two millennia.

It was built over centuries on the ideals of freedom as a fortress for those freedoms, so we could learn and work and worship according to our beliefs. Ultimately education is for the purpose of making us free. As freed persons we are prepared for our roles as informed citizens, thinking Christians and virtuous shapers of culture.

This philosophy encompasses all that we do at Archē; We are nurturing the souls of our children into young people who are rooted in Christ, able to discern the truth, and have cultivated a taste for that which is good and beautiful as they engage their calling and purpose in life for the glory of God.

Daily routine

Each level utilizes children’s God-given strengths at each stage of growth; young children in the Grammar stage enjoy memorizing, singing, and rhymes, so we implement memory devices in every subject to give them a thorough foundation of knowledge. Emphasis is placed on catechism, memorization, and imitating the great masters.

Students engage great books and art containing rich stories that shape both the soul, literary understanding, and moral imagination.

Spiritual Formation

Kindergarten through grade 6 are especially designed by God to be filled with the wonders of God displayed in all of creation. This is done first and foremost by teaching students to observe and absorb all of God’s creation from a biblical perspective.

Bible classes and chapel at conventional Christian schools provide a spiritual aspect to an otherwise progressive approach to education through Bible classes and chapel. CCE holds that the truth of Christ’s lordship is manifest in every area of study, with application to all subjects and, as a result, to everyday life.

Every part of the curriculum is designed to discern and reclaim the glory of God throughout history in all subjects of knowledge.

Archē Classical Academy strives to provide a Classical, Christ Centered education by using a combination of different materials from a variety of classical publishers, as well as in house experience and training. If you would like a more detailed look at our curriculum, one can be provided by setting up a meeting with our Curriculum Director.
